My boyfriend has just been diagnosed with hepatitis c...what should i expect?

My boyfriend is an ex-drug user who got hepatitis c from mainlining drugs. We just went to a gastro/infectious disease doctor who sent him for his genotype and viral load blood work. Next step is a liver biopsy, and then he can begin treatment. He's going to be put on the pegasys injection and he'll be taking copegus with it. I just want to know what to expect out of him in treatment? I know the possible side effects, but i'd like to know what other users of the two drugs have personally experienced. It's all pretty scary, and I want to be with him every step of the way. Any tips and information would help, thank you.
