Prolonged Period! with bright red blood?

I'm 27 years old my periods are "Nornal" it always last 5 to 6 days but this cycle has been different its my eight day and I'm still bleeding bright red I recenthly visited my Ob and she called me last week saying my pap was abnormal. But she wants to see me in 6 months ist normal? Shoul she see me before that? Would my prolonged period has to do. With my abnormal test?
