It is good to have it removed otherwise it will take over part of the space from the permanent tooth and your permanent tooth might become crooked. It is not painful like normal extraction because it is only fragment of tooth left. Don't be scared. It is not infectious process like you think. It will take few minutes to remove and you won't even feel it.
