What do moral bands feel like?

I already had my braces on two days ago, and the dentist put spacers on to prepare my molars for the molar bands. And damn do they hurt. I'm getting my molar bands in two days, what should I expect? Will the molar bands prolong the pain that I'm already feeling? Thanks in advance.
