Would you be in favor of research against aging?

There are some theories about how cells age due to the DNA wearing out after so many cell divisions. By understanding this it means there may be a technology one day to repair the DNA. The potential is people could effectively live for ever; barring accidents, infectious diseases or other illnesses such as cancer. I am sure many people would love never to get old, but do you think it is right to do this type of research, as its impact for instance on the world's resources could be immense.
