Can someone help me figure out wtf happened?

So when I began middle school there was a cute boy named Noah that rode my bus every day. He was in a grade above me and over time we became great friends. When I hit 7th grade (he was in 8th) and we really liked each other. Noah's wierd actions cause me to spiral deeper into depression, until finally, after trying to form some sort of conversation and failing, I agreed to silence. After a few months, my mom and I were reunited and everything was okay. Except for 'him'. To clean up some unwanted dust, I attended his graduation from the middle school and congragulated him. As soon as he saw me he frowned, though he just responded "Hm, thanks." in a dull, uncaring voice. WTF HAPPENED? After two years of being best friends, Noah left me in the dust at the hardest time in my life.

I'm currently in engineering right now for my undergrad, i've got an associates in science also. My GPA right now is a about 3.7 in Electrical Engineering, my grandfather and friends are living through alot of pain and suffering with COPD and crohn's disease. I'm not going to lie, the money and social status is extremely attractive, but I also find the material very interesting and there is something inside of me that wants to help those who are suffering with such diseases as COPD which my grandfather is suffering through. Medical school in my country is very difficult to get into (canada), I am not good at short-term memorization, I am more of a logical thinker as I was educated in thinking as a computer engineer, I tend to use math and logic, not so much memorization. However that being said I am great at memorizing hockey stats (things of my interest) I know every hockey player in the NHL since the year 1995, their height/weight/age, teams played for, city of birth, appearance, style of play. I don't even realize that I was memorizing all those hockey facts, I also think i have a good long-term memory as I remember alot of things that others don't seem to recall in my childhood. My short term memory is about average, but I have developed a tremendous work ethic from my engineering degree so far. Do you think I could survive medical school based on what i've described? Do i have herpes all over?

I recently got diagnosed with Herpes Simplex 2. It sucked, but the only place I got outbreaks were my index and middle fingers. I got the virus 1 year ago and did not know I had herpes until a week ago when I was diagnosed and tested by a doctor. Recently I had an outbreak on my finger and I went to the doctor and he gave me Valtrex. The herpes sores looked like they healed up rapidly, literally in about 2 days the sores were barley noticable. I finished the seven day supply of Valtrex (3 times daily 1mg or 1g or 1 something). After that the herpes continued to fade. Recently however(about 2 days ago), I have had 2 outbreaks that are no longer on my finger. It would appear as though the herpes spread,... everywhere. There are things that appear to be lesions all over my forehead some on my face and all over the top part of my chest. My outbreaks are usually pretty minor, as are these outbreaks, but still the fact that im breaking out all over my face and lips and forehead and chest and even more recently genitalia lead me to believe that I could have possibly spread the virus ALL over my body. My question is, is this likely or even possible?????? If not, what could it be? Also when do you think/ is it estimated that the University of Florida cures herpes? Sorry for so many questions, but I GREATLY appreciate whatever help I can get! Also, I talked to my doctor and he pretty much admitted that he didn't know anything and got me a refferal to see an infectious disease doctor. My attorney had not respond to my phone calls for 4 months of leaving messages. Finally I called someone from the office he worked at yesterday that inform me he was no longer there and had moved out of state. Hey guys. I went to the dentist last week after a year (stupid, I know.) needless to say I'll be back to a twice a year schedule again. Anyways, I had a little cavity which he said was caused be grinding or clinching my teeth (I suffer from bad anxiety & stress) which he fixed with a facial filling. I was looking in the mirror yesterday & Noticed on 2 teeth on the bottom, and 2 teeth on the top I have what I think is dental caries (brown spots in the crevices or 'fissures' of the tooth. I used to have beautiful teeth, a little stained from smoking but still very nice teeth. Now that I saw these I was googling images & I think my mouth is rotting. I used to drink a TON of Coca-Cola, and I'd brush my teeth maybe twice a month during this year period (go ahead & judge, but I'm going through severe depression & family matters and It's hard getting out of bed let alone caring about my personal hygiene). I'm just worried that these spots are going to keep growing & growing even though I am becoming religious on my oral health now & in the future. I've hung around with people with rotten teeth & it's repulsive.. I do not want that broken smile. Also, can sharing a cigarette with someone with tooth decay cause it to be infectious? Thanks guys. I went to the ER a couple of weeks ago. They said I have 1 ruptured ovarian cyst on my right ovary. Along with 2 large cysts and several smaller ones (all on the right ovary). The pain has been killing me. It's nauseating, makes me weak, tired, I have had a period for a month, etc... I am going to see the OB tomorrow and I am wondering what the chance of surgery is to take them out? Or is the watch and wait approach better? The doctor mentioned my cysts are leaking blood. What computer anti-virus software uses very little memory while maintaining maximum protection?

I recently installed Kaspersky Antivirus onto my computer after Webroot failed to pick up four nasty infections. Its not like I don't like Kaspersky, but it is absolutely destroying my computer. When I do a scan, my CPU Usage (according to Windows Task Manager) skyrockets from something like 12% to 90%. Also, when I try to watch videos and browse things on the web, my computer will have random glitches and freezes. Its almost unavoidable. I don't think its a virus because I scan my computer at least once per day. Also, I never visit malicious or known infectious sites. But, for some reason, my computer just doesn't work like it used to. I think its Kaspersky. I intend to purchase a new gaming computer soon, so I need to make the most out of my memory while maintaining maximum protection so my accounts and information don't get stolen. Oh dear i am so so sorry! I once worried about having HIV for a whole year and made myself ill luckily in the end i got tested and it was negative, i can actually feel what you must be going through right now. If his first test i negative, that is good news, of course he will still have to carry on being tested but if the first test was negative im going to say he is negative! I cannot see how him being on top makes any difference to the transmission of HIV as you transfer it via body fluid so that shouldnt make any difference. Although, if he ejaculated everytime you had sex this probably stopped him from getting it as when he ejaculates he was practically shooting all the fluids from you that had entered his penis back out. What are these white circles with red rings on my calf?

M age is 21 years old. I stand at 5 ft 3" and weigh in at 127 lbs. I exercise regularly and eat healthy. I have no health problems other than maybe poor circulation and am on the higher end of the scale for high blood pressure (150/80). I go tanning maybe once every 2 weeks and have done that on and off since i was 15. Just in the past month I started noticing these odd circles on the back of my left calf. Its like white spots with a red ring around them, they almost look vein like except that they are circular shaped and the all sit in a big cluster of around 30 circular spots/blotches, it covers around half of my calf and just happens right under the back of my knee, never touching near my ankle. I just noticed it happening the tiniest bit on my right one too, hardly at all though. They are there most of the time, sometimes more visible than others. It doesn't matter if im sitting or standing or working out for a prolonged period of time. They are always there. They do not itch or burn or are raised. They have absolutely no affect on me what so ever other than they are unsettling to look at. I have not changed body creams, laundry detergent, gotten new clothes or started taking any new supplements or vitamins. What could this be? Should I worried enough to go in and see a Dr? Does anyone else have this? Will it go away?

I have unexplained redness and bruising?

I have had a redness on my mastectomy breast that has spread to my chest and face.? My PCP ran a bunch of labs that didn't come back, and I'm freaking out about what this could be. The labs produced obnoxious bruises and everything seems to make my skin red. I don't think it is infectious, but am on an antibiotic anyway. Oh, and I have pink eye with this too. Two tests that did come back negative, lupus and lyme. What are your thoughts?

Could my BF have HEP?

Yes it would have shown up in the blood tests. I'm sure one of the first things they would have tested for is hep c. Even in the unlikely hood that he does have it the chances of you contracting it through sexual contact are something like 1%. Hep c is usually transmitted from mother to child (during childbirth) through iv drug use or getting a tattoo with an infected needle. My friends husband had it and they were married 20 years and she never contracted it. They had unprotected sex and 3 children during the marriage with no issues so even if he has it you probably don't. The best thing to do is find out for sure if he's been tested then you can go from there.

Detecting Horse abuse?

I Ride/care for and 11 year old warmblood cross. He spooks very easily and is very wirey around people and new objects such as jumps hoses and whips. My trainer and I have recently descovered some signs of past abuse. Such as random scars, odd markings on his hind legs, back, etc. He has weird moods that he gets into sometimes he gets really high and crazy and other times hes very quite and slow. He normally calms down when you give him treats and affection. Today when I arrived at teh barn he was calm but after he was tacked I walked away for about 2 minuets and when I can back he wouldnt let me come near him. If i walk towards him he oulled his head up and tried to back away from me. It took about 10 minuets before I could calm him down enough to bring him into the ring. Once I got on he calmed down a lot. It was the first time he has ever "freaked out" with me I knew when I first started workng with him that he got scared easily and my trainer and I were very suprised to see how quickly he started to trust me. I have been working with him for a little over a year and to this day he has never buck or bolted with me riding him. (he does this very often with other riders) We have created a strong bond over the last year and it was scary for me today to see how quickly he became scared of me. After I rode I spent about 2 hours with him. (i hosed him, grazed him and played with him) just to make sure he still trusted me and he was perfectly fine. My trainer asked me to go home and research some signs of abuse so we can find out what really happened to him in the past. If you know anything aobut abuse and the effect it can have on the horse in the future please respond. Everything helps .

Earlobe too thin with purple streak inside from stretching?

I will admit that I went too fast in gauging my ears. A year ago I started gauging every week until I got to a 0, and from then on I would gauge every 2 to 3 weeks until I got to 5/8. After a month I went to 3/4 and that was a huge stretch, I got it done at a piercing shop because I couldnt do it myself and the stretch went fine, but I stupidly changed to flared plugs after 4 days because the huge tapers were hurting my ears, and ended up battling with infected torn earloabes for about a month after that and took them off for more than a month to heal the infection. I started all over again after they were healed, but was so eager to get back to what I used to be that right away from the 2 g I had shrunk, I was able to go to 1/2 in without any pain at all. I would wait 2 weeks in between stretches, but these stretches were painless, and I thought it was because I had my ears previously gauged to a bigger size. I got to 7/8 without any problem a month later but decided to downsize to 3/4 because one of my ears started stretching closer to where my head connects to my ear and I know that was from the result of fast stretching so I went back to try and correct that. But my other ear is way too thin, it is really dry always and peeling, and has scar tissue at the back that curls inwards from having torn that earlobe the first time I went to that size a couple of months back. My question now is, is my blood flow being cut off from the thiness and that is what has caused this redish purple streak across the inside of my earlobe? What should I do? Would taking off the plugs to let it reheal for a month or so solve that problem and the blood flow in my ear should return? I am just worried my ear will tear apart on its own if the problem is the blood flow? I have no infections my ears dont puss or anything of that sort nor hurt. My ear had practically torn all the way in half the first time so the scar tissue that grew to cover that is what is so thin around the ear.

Hip surgery. I have a 2 inch scar that's finally mostly healed. Except something is sticking out at one end. It looks like string. Lots of fibers making it up. My boyfriend has just been diagnosed with hepatitis c...what should i expect?

My boyfriend is an ex-drug user who got hepatitis c from mainlining drugs. We just went to a gastro/infectious disease doctor who sent him for his genotype and viral load blood work. Next step is a liver biopsy, and then he can begin treatment. He's going to be put on the pegasys injection and he'll be taking copegus with it. What should you do if you accidentally give a friend severe poison ivy?

I had to take pictures for a photography project, and I asked my 3 friends to come to an Arboretum so I could take some pictures. Pulmonary Embolism question?

I had bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms 5 months ago post-op and was hospitalized for a few days. My symptoms were 9/10 pain, could not move due to pain, shortness of breath, low sats, tachycardia, etc... The Doc said the pain should go away within 4-6 weeks. Since then, I have had the usual "zingers" of extreme pain which only last for a few seconds, and an ache of about 2-3/10 pain which comes and goes almost on a daily basis. But I have also occasionally been having signs of new PE's as well. This has happened about 3-4 times over the last 5 months, each time getting worse. Yesterday I had the *exact* same symptoms as my original PE with 9/10 pain, dyspnea, shortness of breath, etc... and But here is the kicker. These "attacks" are temporary and yesterdays episode only lasted about 10 minutes or so and left as quickly as it came. These are debilitating and cannot move or breath while I have them. I have to sit in a semi-tripod position and take very short, shallow breaths to keep the pain down. I have been treated for pleurisy (which I don't meet the criteria for but willing to try anything) and cannot distinguish the symptoms between my original PE and these episodes. However, I know that symptoms of a PE don't just "go away" like mine have been. I really feels like I have a sudden blockage of my vessel which breaks loose and allows blood flow again. Perhaps scar tissue or left over PE, I have no idea but am a Paramedic/Firefighter and return to work this week and CANNOT have this problem while on duty. My Doc doesn't know what is going on (she has referred me to yoga and acupuncture. I am looking for a new Doc right now) and need to get this problem fixed. I have searched the internet tirelessly and haven't found anything remotely comparable to my symptoms. Any thoughts?

I have 3 tiny, but VERY noticeable scars from pimples...?

I have three noticeable scars each above each other, under my lip, on my chin, leftover from the serious pimple I had. The human body was built for survival. A person wont become "malnourished" after a few days of eating below the "recommended calorie intake". Sure, after a prolonged period with very little food, you will become tired and physically weaker, and depending on what exactly youre eating, you may face a risk of becoming malnourished. But theres nothing wrong with short term periods of fasting or eating small amounts, especially when theyre eating only a few hundred calories below the "norm". A person is only "starving" if their levels of body fat reach a certain percentage. So people need to stop telling others theyre "starving themselves" when they say theyre doing a low calorie diet for a few days. So-called "starvation mode", only occurs after a longer period of time, not if someones doing a 48 hour fast or some fad diet to fit into a wedding dress or something. And fyi, the weight CAN stay off if the person carefully monitors their calorie intake, slowly increasing it afterwards, instead of just stuffing there faces with fried chicken and burgers right after (which is why most people gain the weight back, because they start eating way too much). No one has ever died or become "malnourished" after a short term low calorie diet. Its so annoying seeing people always exaggerate about calories on here.

Me an My boyfriend have been trying for 7-9 months and not getting any results so i've went to three doctors during that 7-9 mo. gap. first one I had diagnosed me with dub (Dysfunctional uterine bleeding) due to hormone imbalance, because i would come on my period and stay on for 3 weeks or more. I honestly thought it was normal because heavy bleeding prolonged bleeding runs in my mothers side of the family. But of course i was wrong, she gave me birth control pills to balance my hormones and she claimed that this DUB shouldn't have been stopping me from getting pregnant,she told me to take the bc for 3 months and to just eat healthy and i'll be fine. I did that but after still no baby and my DUB is still here. The next two doctors said the exact same thing. Now i recently met a new doc who better explained to me what was going on "thank god" she said that I have a high level of testosterone and the fact im overweight is not allowing me to ovulate sadly and she said its also a possibility of PCOS she basically prescribed that I take bc but also explained there's no way to know how long it will take for my hormones to act right. I said i'd do it but while im doing it i want to help my body balance hormones and loose this weight. I'm 5'3 and 230lb, I know it sound like alot but if you'd seen me you wouldn't know thanks to the testosterone i have alot of muscle alot of people say I look 170 or 180, but anywho just please help me somebody can you give me tips on what to do what not to do teas and herd and all that good stuff I'm really aiming to be preggo by late december or early january??????

What was your experience with mono?

I found out just yesterday that my boyfriend may either be an infectious mononucleosis carrier, or if he's just been exposed to it due to his brother being sick with it a couple months ago. hHe had a high antibody count and I believe your body makes antibodies similar to the mono bacteria when you have been exposed but not sick. I have to wait until Monday to find out. In the meantime I'm getting blood work done this week to see if I'm a carrier as well. I'm a little worried as I've never had an experience with this kind of blood infection, has anyone run into this before? What should I look out for? Anything that really helped you feel better?

almost 3 months ago i had a sexual encounter with a girl i didn't really know. after the encounter i panicked because i did not know the girl very well at all but had a one night stand. i was very paranoid ever since then and my life has revolved around that one encounter. i went to the doctor believing that i had contracted herpes but he kept saying it was not herpes because i had no symptoms but a slight tingle at the time. i went to planned parenthood to have the nurse look at me and she said it did not look like herpes and i had normal skin. i still was convinced and had the doctor do a herpes test which he used an igm test. a week later he called me and said i was right and said i had herpes and i was devastated. he said the igm was positive but the IgG was negative which signified a recent infection. ive had a single bump down there and i popped it before the nurse checked it. but almost 12 weeks later the bump is back and i popped it again so i suspect its herpes. however during that one encounter i did use a condom. it was a spermicidal condom and has never irritated me before and it did not break or rip. im worried that i could have gotten hiv because i might have gotten herpes. i read the spermicidal condoms increase the risk of hiv and im so scared now. i had an HIV test(finger prick) 6 weeks after the exposure and it was negative. i also have bleeding gums when i brush my teeth but had not brushed my teeth before the encounter so i don't think it could have passed that way but still worried. its week 11 and im getting another test tomorrow and one at week 12. should i be worried about contracting HIV? i know having herpes makes you more infectious and if i did get herpes from her do you think i also got HIV from her if she has it? i have been tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea and they were both negative. my herpes igm was positive. my HIV was negative at 6 weeks. and i haven't been tested for any of the other stds like hepatitis, syphilis, or any of the other ones. im planning on getting a full panel done.

How can I ever speak to my sister again?

My daughter has just been diagnosed with a highly contagious rash called molluscum contagiosum. I have been incredibly diligent, researching online and warning all of my parent friends. My sister did not tell me about it and failed to warn me at all. I would have to put her on another two to three year waiting list as child care is very limited here. So now, because she did not warn me about this infectious disease, I am at risk of losing my job, not to mention that my daughter now has this nasty rash that could eventually cover her entire body if I am not careful. The doctors say that this could last years and there is no guaranteed cure. I am currently not speaking to my sister as I am appalled at how irresponsible she was with this. I am sure that she has neglected to warn anyone of this and has probably spread it all through her children's schools as well. My dog has a hard lump inside her cheek?

If you are tired you are tired, someone has got to make a change for the better, and maybe it will be you, when your parents are old they may be to old and sick to move from place to place and no housing, education, you will be able to provide a place or shelter for them. As I stated someone has to think differently for the family to survive and have homes etc, education, health insurance. So good luck, you can do it, they may complain but when they see you doing okay they will be proud of you, you can show the younger generation that things are different and what you need to survive you can keep your cultural values at least some of them food, clothing etc.

Her breathing is very bad and the phlegme blocks her tubes when she coughs. According to the Nurse and Doctor it is not a chest infection. She has a problem with any movement i.e. getting up on her feet, sitting down, and walking because her breathing is so bad, she is OK when just sitting down apart from when she coughs. It seems to be a new type of cough as several people we know seem to have it, but it does not seem to be infectious. No-one has experienced a cough of this type before, I can't help but wonder if the volcanic ash has anything to do with it, but may be my imagination is carrying it a bit far. But it must be something different in the air.

I also didn't have the $1,000 and don't know how much more into debt I can put myself. I feel horrible but I'm on a very tight budget. More importantly though, I don't want her to suffer. Mederma does work, it just takes a while! Give it time :) Make sure to apply every day and consistently. I had a big scar on my shoulder and now it barley exists! By the way spray tan your legs in the mean time!

YES you are a jerk! On so many levels .if you were at a nursery school they wouldn't let you get away with such abominable behaviour.primarily so that the other kid doesn't have to go through the misery of illness unnecessarily, also so the other parent doesn't miss work looking after their poor child that you so cruelly indirectly infected.If you think i am really mad you are right my child was a victim of someone like you and ended up critically ill. it cam ha;;en. Cut about 1/2 in long ending at the top of my upper lip?

The Nice Girl, Cuts?!?

Theres this girl in my school 13years old, and she is one of the nicest girls u will ever meet. She looks out for everyone, always there for u, she is just a loevly person. But yesterday I saw scars on her wrist, she had a long jumper on and it was a boiling day so she rolled up her sleeves, she faints if she is too warm. And she faints has panic attacks and fits for differnent reasons also. But I dont know why she cuts shes always happy, laughing, she is very pretty and quite wealthy. But this girls was Sexuall Harrased about 5months back, Everything is sorted now, and she always says 'Im not letting that pervert wreck my life' so I dont think it is that. Not many people know about this only her close friends. Im just a friend of hers but I found out cause she was crying in class before and she got took out, and then her friend told me. So i dont really think I can go up to her and ask her why she cuts, because im not that close. I dont know what to do? She always puts everyone before her, if its a decision weather to help someone else or her, she will go for the other person. So she wont get help on her oown? What can I do? Cutting, anorexia are really bad things. I know she's your friends. It's really sad she does that. It's sad how the nicest people deal with the hardest things. I know your not her closest friend but don't ever let her feel alone. When feeling alone , a person will cut and destroy themselves. I would tell her closest friends that your worried about her and tell her that you hope she's ok and ur there for her. But DON'T make gossip around the school about her. And DON'T judge her because it'll only be a reason why she has MORE cuts and less food consumed.

I'm not sure that this is something that you're going to be able to help on your own. She sounds like she's going through a lot, emotionally and otherwise. I think the best thing that you can do is sit down with some one like your parents or an older person that you trust and explain it to them. They will know what the best thing to do is. If she's abusing her self as you say, and you really care for her, tell someone right away that can help her before it goes too far.

Depressed I have dental caries... Please help guys.?

Hey guys. I went to the dentist last week after a year (stupid, I know.) needless to say I'll be back to a twice a year schedule again. Anyways, I had a little cavity which he said was caused be grinding or clinching my teeth (I suffer from bad anxiety & stress) which he fixed with a facial filling. I was looking in the mirror yesterday & Noticed on 2 teeth on the bottom, and 2 teeth on the top I have what I think is dental caries (brown spots in the crevices or 'fissures' of the tooth. I used to have beautiful teeth, a little stained from smoking but still very nice teeth. Now that I saw these I was googling images & I think my mouth is rotting. I used to drink a TON of Coca-Cola, and I'd brush my teeth maybe twice a month during this year period (go ahead & judge, but I'm going through severe depression & family matters and It's hard getting out of bed let alone caring about my personal hygiene). I'm just worried that these spots are going to keep growing & growing even though I am becoming religious on my oral health now & in the future. I've hung around with people with rotten teeth & it's repulsive.. I do not want that broken smile. Also, can sharing a cigarette with someone with tooth decay cause it to be infectious? Thanks guys. If I was in any real danger, wouldn't my dentist say "Dave, it's time you start brushing & flossing better because it's getting bad? I mean right now my teeth look good, but these spots have me a nervous wreck & I can't stop thinking that my teeth are rotting as we speak. Thanks & bless you.
